Door from Solid Oak.
For a private client I designed a door.
The house has a vertical timber facade so I decided to go with a strict array of vertical oak slabs for the door, too. One of the slabs stepped out of the strict line a bit in order to serve as a handle to open and close the door. To provide some comfort for your hands and fingers, the inner edges are generously rounded.
The design intends to hide all seams and gaps of the door in order to create something satisfyingly flush and visually quiet when closed.
The door was meticulously crafted by Schreinerei Dittus, which also manufactures Homecation.
I selected the classic FSB 1144 by Jasper Morrison for the inside.
